Default DIC problems

Well I'm waiting for my account to be activated on club GP, until then i was hoping you guys could help me out. I just brought home a 97 GTP, runs beautifully even though it has 204,000 miles on it. The only problem ive been able to find with it is the DIC isnt working. Driving home from the dealership i got nothing from it, sitting in my drive way it came on for a moment then switched back off and wont come back. I've been digging through thew owners manual and can find anything about it, I'm about to disconnect the battery over night to see if it''l reset and fix itself. If that doesnt work how should i go about fixing this?

I'll post some pics later today, gotta find a camera i can borrow, i dont wanna disgrace her with cellphone pics. I should have worn a mask when i bought it cause i basically stole it at $1200, the dealership didnt have any mechanics, and they told me the brakes were gone and the power steering pump was bad. Driving ti home was scary, I had to use 2 hands to turn and even then it was difficult. I got home and popped the hood, turns out it just didnt have ANY power steering fluid and a minor oil leak. The brakes work fine, you gotta put the pedal nearly to the floor before it starts applying pressure but once it does they're real smooth. Theres only 2 things i dont like.

1. I'm used to my monte and this is a 4 door, so when I try to hang my arm out the window I dont have nearly as much room before i hit the pillar.

2. It has tail lights like these

except more chrome and less red

if those tails are leds i would put some light tint on them. would look pretty sweet.

so does that mean power steering works now?

sounds like you got a great deal, not just waiting on pics ha

Just be careful with that car, 97 wasn't a great year for that engine lol
