Aftermarket radio won't shut off
Recently I installed a new head unit, as well as a amp to power both my speakers and a sub, plus new speakers. I had to purchase a PAC radio replacement interface my 2006 Monte. The interface is a PAC C2R-GM29. My head unit is a Pioneer FH-X700BT.
I have been having issues though. Sometimes (not all the time) the radio won't shut off after the key is removed and the door is opened. The only way to shut it off is to unplug the interface and plug it back in, or remove the positive wire from the battery.
I went to one of my local car audio stores and they gave me a relay and a diode to splice in that "should" fix the problem. It basically takes a higher current input and turns it into the 12V accessory switch. They told me the diode prevents back flow, or any trickle flow, I guess. I wired it in according to the diagram in my instructions for the interface. I have not encountered any problems running it this way, however my original problem persists.
It very frustrating and I have even considered bypassing the interface for the 12V accessory switch, even though the radio will turn off before opening the door, which I am alright with. However, all the diagrams I've looked up for the factory radio wiring do not show a 12V accessory switch wire. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue without having to bypass the interface, as well as which wire would act as the original 12V accessory in the event that I wish to go ahead and bypass?

I checked both ends of each wire, as well as the inside of each plastic connector (the best I could without breaking open the connectors). Nothing is broken, every joint where I used butt connectors is clean and there are no wires sticking out. There are no shorts. If I had wired the backwards, or somehow combined them, wouldn't it NEVER shut off? It only does it sometimes; about once out of every 4 or 5 times.
I used a Scosche kit in mine to replace the factory chimes, etc, and didn't have any trouble.
The only thing i can think of other than double checking every section of wiring is perhaps its the ignition switch.
Have you tried seeing if the problem is with both doors? i.e. left door is open but radio still on, open right door and it shuts off?
Lots of crazy things it could be if its not the simple ones.
EDIT:
something I have seen before so won't rule it out..
Have you checked to make sure the remote on the amp side isn't touching positive? If the remote wire on the stereo gets a strong enough signal even further down the chain it will stay powered up.

I checked my amp remote wire. I know you want to run speaker wires and RCA wires away from a power wire. I ran my remote wire with the speaker wire, however next to the amplifier, my remote wire was kind of bundles up over the power wire. But it wasn't but a foot of wire. Would this cause enough interference? Or since its such a small amount the interference would be negligible?
Also, I know my ground for the amp isn't well grounded, because when I accelerate a bunch I can hear a small amount of static. Is it possible for that to cause it not to power off?
I tucked my remote wire under the amp away from the power wire. However, my radio has been shutting off fine for the past 2 days. The only most of the time it shuts off immediately after opening the door, but the other times it only took a half second to shut off. I'm sure after I post this, tomorrow it will begin to not shut off again. :P 'Tis the way of mechanical and electrical problems.
EDIT: Lastly,
I have tried opening and closing the passenger door as well, several times. It won't shut off when opening the passenger door as well
