Actually out of curiosity, anyone have the zzp intake? If you do can ya let me know what gauge (thickness) they use? Because i think mine being 11 gauge is a bit over kill (roughly 3/32"). I think something more along the lines of 16 gauge would be easier to form and still provide rigidity.

Just curious if you've completed your CAI and have it completely installed in your Monte now? If so, any results/opinions of the results?

ohh yeahh its been in there since i posted the pics i reset my mpg calculator on my dic. I used to get 26.2 mpg and now its saying 28.1 so its doing its job! I'm gonna wait a little longer to see some long term results as far as mpg and wear and tear on everything cuz there is stress everywhere on a car. Plus we havent had to much rain lately i really wanna see how well the stainless holds up.

As far as sound goes, i love the air suction sound and its hard to keep off the gas once i hear it cuz i want to hear more of it. Plus, imo, it makes the engine sound healthier at higher rpms. My gf even noticed it without me saying anything so it wasn't just me thinking it! i was shocked to say the least :P

Awesome news on the MPG improvement! I agree, you still need to get a bit more sample data, but you are certainly off to a great start!

If you go into making and selling these kits, you have my interest. I'd love to hear a price tag once you get one worked out!

This may be a stupid question but,,,

I want to move my PCM for several reasons, one of the biggest being it's in the way and too close to the turbo and sloppily mounted and it is really in the way and the way it's in the engine compartment now looks like crap.

So,,, I have a partial wiring harness that came with a PCM from salvage. It looks to me like I could just splice the wiring into the other harness and get the length I need but, I am wondering if there would be a problem with the extra length causing resistance problems and errors.

What do y'all think?

thanks

I dont think the longer wires would cause any errors or resistance problems. Just make sure where you splice you use heat shrink to prevent water, accidental shorts, and corrosion damage. This is just my opinion, maybe someone with more experience with the pcm can chime in, but i would go for it. If you do, post pics i'm curious :P
