He installed one on his truck, and helped me on my car install, but won't do it for his 06 SS... silly parents...

I've had one on my 06 SS since 6/07, nearly 2 years and the car has never thrown a code because of it. No problems with it at all.

Gains would be larger on a V8 with just an intake and exhaust work.

Granted alone, one or the other might not make a huge difference. Together it will really open it up, at least a seat in the pants difference.

Doesnt work like that for our V6's though

OK its in

I love it, no engine lights went on, so don't worry.

It took me a good 1 hour 45 min to install it maybe more. It was a pain the K&N instructions aren't that good.

I took it for a test drive and you can feel and hear the difference. I have a Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust also so I think that helped with the power difference I felt.

I took it on the highway and openned it up, WOW I love it.

If you don't have one yet you should. I do admit without the exhaust work I don't think I would have notice that much of a difference but with the exhaust work it really did make a difference.

Well glad to hear you're happy with it. I'm looking forward to installing mine. I've heard good things about throttle body spacers on our cars too. You may want to consider it.

Has anybody found the K&N intake for under $250? I got a best offer of $250 with one ebay seller, but I was hoping to get it for closer to $200.

I bought mine for $235 + free shipping, but that's when autopartswarehouse.com had them on sale and I had a coupon after buying my Dad's for his S-10.

I'd say $250 is a good deal if you aren't making your own.
