Default Thrasher CAI VS SLP CAI

Hi guys I need your opinions on what CAI I should install on my 05 SS supercharged Monte. The Thrasher and SLP are around the same money and I was just wondering which one would you guys choose or which one you think is better. I don’t care about looks because I will never enter this car in a car show.

Thanks in advance.

I have been scouring the internet and been reading Grand Prix sites and found an installation PDF for the Thrasher CAI and it says it is for off road use only. I don’t want to throw any codes so I may be leaning towards the SLP CAI, but I want a CAI that I can really hear the supercharger whine.

Oh well, I ordered the SLP CAI tonight. Surfed around the web and I think I got a good price. At least we have heat in our garage now so the install will be quick comfy and easy.
I still haven’t posted pics of the new 05 yet because it keeps freaking snowing here! [:@]
When it warms up my Fiance’s friend has a tire mounter (in his unheated garage LOL) so I can get my new tires mounted and balanced. I can’t wait to get rid of those sorry Eagle RS-As!

Ya I have that CAI on my 03 but I wanted and enclosed system to keep the engine heat away so I went with the SLP.

I'm not sure that there is a huge difference, but supposedly the wizair is the most recommended CAI based on actual flow rates and IAT temps. I believe it's about the same price as the Thrasher or SLP cai's.
It works well for me, my IAT's are right around ambient at highway cruising, and just a couple degrees higher in stop and start traffic.
Plus, it looks pretty cool.

I was looking at the Wizair but the intake was the same price but you had to buy the K&N filter separately making it $40 more.

I first found it on Auto Trader and it was located at Patrick Hyundia in Schaumburg. I had my Fiance go look at it and test drive it and it check out OK. The price was 11k but they also listed it on ebay no reserve for 10k for a 5 day auction. So, they wouldn’t sell it to my fiance for 10k until their auction ended. I bid on it at the last minute and won it (I was the only bidder LOL) for 10k and picked it up the next day. It rides real nice but has tons of rock chips on the hood. I am going to get the hood reshot and the inside door seams fixed (there is rust bubbling starting - which is very common with these cars).
