To me it sounds like it got less raspy when cruising 40-50mph

Does it make a difference in the sound if there is a CAI system installed on the car? I do not have one yet and curious if I should add one. I rarely drive the car but since this kit was discontinued I had to get it plus she didn't like the sound of the resonator delete system it had before. Too raspy... I actually drive the living daylights out of a Saturn my better half bought me last year. So all the toys now sit. LOL

You'd hear the engine bay more with the CAI. I don't think it would make a difference on your exhaust.

Glad to see it installed. I'm not sure if I like the sound of that or not. It sounds different than some of the other 3800 GMPP exhaust systems I've heard on YT. Maybe it will get deeper as it breaks in.

SSmokybear,
Are you liking the sound of your new exhaust more than you did originally? The more times I listened to your YT video, the more I liked it.

I just received the Borla system that I bought from Zippy today so hopefully I can get it installed soon. I don't think the Borla system will be as loud because the resonator is longer than the one on the GMPP system.

Can I ask how much they charged you to install your system? They want around $100 to install mine but I don't know if that is a good price or not. It sounds kind of high to me.

Thanks, Wayne

Wayne:

I drove the car a little this weekend and I noticed the tone is changing a little and there is a very loud drone at 60mph or 1200 rpm. It sounds good when your gassing on it. But it's really loud otherwise. It's not a good loud to me. It's just the V-6. I guess it will grow on me. I will give it time. The jury is still out...

Don't think I am a fuddy duddy and old either. Here is my Impala SS on an ATR exhaust system. This is the BEST sounding exhaust I have ever heard period. I love mashing this gas peddle all the time. This is a bad *** sound. I wish this guy was still in business. He made them right... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi4xEZTg5YQ

The cost of the install on my system was $200. That was for the exhaust system, the installation of a provided 3" CAT, the making of an export pipe to swap out all with 3-hole flanges and gaskets, and lastly the whole system I had welded together using NO clamps. I thought it was a fair value for all that work.

Crap, i love the way it sounds on your YT video. If I had the money I would buy it from you.

Would you care for installment payments? :P

Tom,
Thanks for the info on the install cost. It sounds like you got a good deal since you had quite a bit of stuff done. Hopefully the exhaust sound will grow on you.

Your Impala does sound bad ***. I have heard of ATR and didn't know they were not in business anymore.

What year is your Mustang Cobra? That is a sharp car. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust system on it.? My fiancee bought a 2007 Mustang GT last year with only 6,900 miles on it. The stock exhaust sounds good on it at a cold startup but IMHO could be a little louder when warm. I'm trying to convince her to get an exhaust system for it. I've listened to several versions of the Borla systems and the magnaflow system and they all sound pretty good. Thanks again.

Wayne
