Default Glasspack Resonator

So far ive had a flowmaster 40 series muffler installed on my 3.5 monte and personally thats just not enough... Im looking for a nice deep throaghty sound/ gurgle. The flowmasters nice and yeah i know its on my 3.5 6 cyl but i do want to get the best sound out of it as i can, but at the same time i dont want to be bothered by NY cops.

Ive been interested in doing some work on my resonator but im not sure what the best route to take is. Im wondering if i should replace my stock res with a glasspack muffler but im unsure if it will give me just what im looking for.

If anyone has any sound clips that can really show me what kind of sound i would get just by replacing the resonator?

You may want to look into a shorter resonator. I know using glasspacks has been pretty common and makes it deeper but I'm not really sure what effect it will have on our cars

I agree with the above. Measure your res, say it's 20 inches, get a 12-14 inch one. Go from there.

Yeah I'm just a bit confused with how the concept of resonator tones work, meaning what kind of sound would a shorter then stock resonator will make and what kind of sound would a longer then stock res make?

the longer the resonator the more it tends to deaden the sound, so with a shorter resonator you may experience a little louder and deeper sound from your exhaust

I replaced mine about a year ago with a glasspack, added just a little growl.

i did also not to long ago, im still running the stock mufflers behind it for now but it is definitely a lower sound. it isn't louder but the idle sounds lower. i would definitely go with a glasspack resonator if i were you.

So i ended up going with the magnaflow glasspack muffler in place of my stock resonator(26") and i believe it sounds great with the flowmaster!

Soon i will post a sound clip
