Default Clamps for cai

My cold air intake clamp for the tube away from the filter is slipping off. Do I need a t bolt clamp to really seal it?

No. For just sealing a filter to a pipe, a regular clamp works fine and has been used in many OEM applications.

If the clamp is loosening and falling off, something else is wrong.

The clamp to filter is fine. It's my other end of the pipe that was having issues coming off.

Gotcha. Sounds like you've just got a bum clamp. I'd go down to your local auto parts store and pick up a replacement and you should be good to go. There are a zillion of these clamps running out there without issues, and especially being NA, it's not even going to see any pressure so I wouldn't bother with any kind of special expensive clamps.

They actually made pretty terrible pipes. I had an issue with my pipe, it bent completely at the TB and was letting in unfiltered air.

Take a look at your pipe, and make sure it's not bent/broken. K&N had to send me a new one back when I ran an intake.

Here's a thread I made back from 2011 about the pipe https://montecarloforum.com/forum/he...ave-one-29136/

Thanks guys. The last couple of days it hasn't came off luckily. I contacted them and they sent me multiple clamps and the small rubber piece that connects to the engine/where the pipe fits in to clamp them together. The rubber piece looks stickier too tbh.
