Default buying a cai soon

i will soon be buying a cai from cold air induction, its for my 2006 monte carlo 3lt. It does cost a little bit around $285.does any other member have this cai? from the looks of it, this remove the stock air box and put the cai right in its place. the nice thing about it is, it shieled from the heat. by putting this in would it throw any codes? cold air induction claims a true 12 hp gain, good sound from the motor and better mpg. sounds good to me.

I do. The install was easy just take your time. as long as you go easy on the oil on the filter you should have no trouble. I really like mine. I had a K&N before this one and the Cold Air Inductions one keeps the IATs around 10 above ambient outside temps.

I'm running the Cold Air Inductions CAI also. Yes, it replaces the OE air filter box. My install is on an '03, but I'm sure the '06 is similar. The install is straight forward and not at all difficult.

I'll be ordering this CAI for my 3LT in a couple weeks. Might do before/after dyno pulls just for S&G. Think it's worth having the dyno joint do the HPTuners thing as well?
