07 Monte V6 CAI cold air box installation
Ok I ordered the cold air box from CAI for the 06-07 V6 Monte. CAI said everything is the same for the SS and the v6 versions except a silicon tube. So I was wondering if anyone has done this to a V6 and what were you results? I haven't buttoned anything down yet as I have a few questions for my own installation.
When I have it in a position that I think it should sit the holes on the bottom don't line up where the c-clamps they give.

If I were to line up the holes there is a large gap between the box edge and the driver-side fender/quarter panel.

Is this normal? Has anyone else done this in a 06-07 V6
Also, when I was putting the stock air box back I realized there a tube that comes from the airbox that CAI has no mention of and tells me nothing of what to do with it. So what is it and what do I do with it?

Thanks for any help or info. If there is any clarification needed please ask.

the below info may help......
There is a reason our website does not advertise it to fit a 3.5L. Basically our intakes are considered a bolt on in the sense that no other items need to be purchased or modified to make our unit fit your vehicle. I believe that for the 3.5L the MAF is molded onto your oem airbox, so to make our unit fit you would actually have to buy a seperate MAF to complete the install. For that reason plus the fact we have never verified fitment or done testing on that year 3.5, we do not advertise it. Hopefully that makes sense.
