You can have DOD tuned out I did. Also your owners manual says only premium fuel.

Yeah chibi said they made a tune for 06 SS, but 07s are different from what he heard. Mel can you confirm this? I know you were an active member on ls1 forum before, I used to browse it alot. Also have you tried straight pipe?

Lew can do 2007 tunes now with the trinity tuner I believe. Will ar overkill did my tune. I have my DoD turned off and you know my exhaust set up if you get a tune I would go ahead and get one just for 91+ octane and just not worry about it. I get anywhere from 18ish-23 mpg average depending on my lead foot. And that is without a cat with magnaflow mufflers.

Do you save more gas with DOD turned off? I would think swapping between 8 and 4 cyc it would help with 4 cyc mode..Idk

I didn't really see a change in mpg. The car droves smoother without it and sounds better because 4cyl mode sounds terrible through anything aftermarket exhaust wise. Not to mention you no longer have to worry about the oil consumption with it tuned out

True he can and thats the way to go. I purchased a 8 cylinder I want them all the time not a V8 sometimes.

So do you have to purchase the tune + the tuner device?

If you go through Lew I believe you do have to purchase both. But I think he bundles everything together to bring the price down. It's been forever since I talked to Lew about doing a tune on my car so I may be wrong on that. I would just get a dyno tune. I got quoted 400 for a full tune from a place near me that specializes in Chevy's. That full tune includes dod delete, changing shift points, as well as a bunch of other stuff. That will be what I plan to do after I get my new trans.
