Also chibi, whats a good way to find out what MPG your getting? I think my 07 SS is burning more gas than what its supposed to, and I cant figure out whether its a mechanical problem or what? And ill email lew today to see if he figured anything out. Google has a couple searching from HPTUNERS.com some modded with DOD, but eh..I think my mc avgs maybe 16.5 street IDK.

Reset your Tripometer, fill up the gas tank completely. Drive. Fill up the gas tank, record the mileage and divide it by the gallons used.

The SS isn't that great on MPG. I know a lot of people are around 18-20

Sounds about right? Okay I thought it was a lil better but eh, I get much better mpg with premium, I try tracking between reg and premium. Granted I use premium majority of the time. And thanks for that vid mel.

You should run premium on the v8. The car pulls timing when regular is used. Pulling the timing might actually cause you to run a little richer, depending on how the PCM is acting.

Yeah thats what I tested, it burns alot slower, it may cost a lil more but i guess it evens out in the long run cause it actually last. Have you ever heard a 7th gen straight pipe with DOD? I was wondering how that would sound. Maybe i might have to jump on the wagon and just get it to see..

I still have DOD with my 06 SS and it sounds like a helicopter lol. It really gets annoying if you do a lot of city driving like I do where it's fairly frequent stops and then speeds up to about 35-45 where DOD kicks in so pretty much the entire time I drive DOD turns on and off all the time. I don't think it would be to bad if I did a lot of highway driving. As far as gas mileage, I get anywhere from 11-14MPG depending on if I have a heavy foot that day or not. As far as an exhaust goes, just make sure he does mandrel bends and not crush bends. You will get much better flow with mandrel bent piping

The 06 can be tuned with DiabloSport tuner to easily shut the DOD off, the 07 doesn't allow that.
That is actually exaggerated. Its really not that bad

With my mufflers it is actually pretty bad. If you have a more tamed exhaust/mufflers I can see it not being that bad. The stock exhaust isn't to bad. I have Spintech pro street 9000 mufflers which are significantly louder than stock and when DOD kicks on it does sound like a helicopter and gets really annoying after a while.
