Default wipers acting up!

Hi, my 2003 Monte just started this, wipers work in all speeds etc but when I turn them off they will go across one time then stop straight up in middle of windshield instead of down and "parking" as they should??? any ideas??? aggravating driving in the sunshine with the wipers on lowest intermittent speed!! lol

Hey hi, found this bit of information. this could be the culprit. Hope this helps get you started on the troubleshooting.

On GM vehicles, this problem is usually caused by a defective park switch in the wiper motor. Inside the motor is a rotating cam that allows the wipers to cycle up to one stroke after the switch is turned off. When the wipers come down to park position, the cam opens a switch called the park switch to stop the cycle.

if the wipers are stopping before cycling down, the park switch is open already, so the motor does not have power to continue downward.

The park switch is an integral part inside the motor assembly. It is not serviceable separately and you cannot purchase just the switch parts anywhere. The standard repair is to replace the wiper motor.
