There are 4 solenoids in the transmission - two shift solenoids, a Torque Converter Clutch solenoid, and a pressure control solenoid. You have to drop the cradle and remove the trans side cover to access the valve body. Might as well replace the TCC and PC solenoids, or even the shift solenoids while you're in there

Is this in a repair manul if I pick one up? and are you able to get these parts at autozone or napa ? Im realy good at turning wrenches so Im sure I can handle it.So pull the axles and drop the cradle is what your saying? the valve body is under that side cover on the left side.is there any kind of shift kit to do wile in there?I hate the slow shifts.
thanks Brian

I'm not sure if it's in a repair manual. It's not in my Haynes manual.

But yes, pull the axles and drop the cradle, you need something to hold the transmission atop the motor as well, Autozone rents them. And I ordered all my solenoids from Autozone. If you want a shift kit, check zzperformance.com or tripleedgeperformance.com, they might have some

well today I was detailing under the hood ,I stop and look at the fuse box. I notice it said trans sol. popped the cover off pulled the 10 amp fuse and it was corroded. cleaned it put a new fuse in and the problem is gone. For now.it was doing a shudder every once in a while starting from a light.now its not doing.Im still figuring it cant be that easy.

Well, if the fuse was corroded, that could've been giving you your issue the whole time; lucky you! lol
