Things that bother you about your Monte...
Primary dislikes-
-lack of traction
As was said above- most of the other stuff that I disliked, I fixed or modified to work how I'd like. Still working on the cure for lack of traction on the street...
I also think its kinda funny how so many people complained about the newer montes being FWD V6's- but pretty much regardless what you paid, you could've bought a RWD vehicle for a similar price (maybe not necessarily a V8 unless you went with a good deal older model though).

On my 2006 I dislike:
1) The seatbelt flapping when the windows are down. I drive (unless really above 90 degrees) with the windows down and it gets quite loud and annoying.
2) FWD with the V8 power.
3) The way the previous owner of my car took care of it (nothing I can do about that other than get things fixed, which I have done so far)
No matter what I could write here, nothing would outweigh the positives of owning my Monte Carlo though. I absolutely love that car and I loved my 02 SS when I had that too.

00 SS
Made in Canada
FWD
Cheap Stock Rims
Weak V-6 My 90 Beretta GT was much stronger and faster! heck my 82 Toyota Tercel had more power than this car. Would have liked to have a supercharged Intimidator but can just imagine the problems I'd have with that.
Electrical Problems
PLASTIC MANIFOLD
PLASTIC RADIATOR CASING
Location of Power Steering pump and difficulty filling the fluid
The filler neck unscrewing along with the oil cap when you add oil
as big green dog stated........Rattle box trunk even though the spare is tightened as much as it can be it still rattles around
Door rattle...had same problem with my 75, believe its a window track issue
Cost of tune ups due to it being FWD.........come on $1,000.00 WTH
The fact that even GM Mechanics can't diagnose your problems and act like they've never heard of this before when I see here that there are a multitude of people with THE SAME PROBLEMS. ie, Cabin air filter leaking water on floorboard, Headlight Issues (MFS), Turn Signal shorts
Fake Dual but my 94 Z28 was Fake too. Why? did they do this? I don't believe it has any functionality so why bother costing me another muffler and pipe. I get the "looking" sporty and true to "sport and performance" but why not just put a short fake pipe out the back. It wouldn't look any different and it would cost less
LIKES

It's a Love/Hate relationship I have with this car. I drove an 07 and fell in love with it but couldn't afford it so I chose the 00 which was in my reach. Now I'm not sure if I want to own another one of these cars. The 07 was a V8 but I'm not sure if it was RWD. I never looked under the hood or at the rear end. I just drove it for a week as a rental car.

, but there are a bunch of new members here that may want to post on this topic!
As I stated, I am currently in a LOVE/HATE relationship with this car so maybe I was being a little harsh on her. I do LOVE her more than I hate her and when I get the issues resolved it will only be love.
Did I mention I hate the mechanic that put six quarts of oil in her just because there were six quarts in the trunk when I sent it to him. Thanks to him I have blown seals and she leaks. I don't like that either but that's neither her fault or GM's. I discovered this a week after I took it in cuz my son needed some oil for his car and when I went to get him a quart out of the trunk there wasn't any. I called the mechanic and asked him about it. Yes indeed he put all six quarts in. What 3.8L uses 6 quarts I asked him. OH was his response. Guess he didn't realize he was working on my Monte Carlo NOT my Z28. I drained her immediately but it was too late.
Thank you to everyone on the forum for sharing their knowledge, experiences, and love.
