6th Gen ('00-'05): Problem at the Pump.
Mine does it all the time, but I just do what Taz does and not tilt the handle and let it flow a bit slower, no problem. I had one time where I filled up and the gad started to overflow. I was a bit hot after that, on fire, more like it. LOL
