Do a " brake torque " and have someone listen at the back of the car for jetting sounds to rule out a catalytic convertor going bad

I've had the same issue with the tranny, it seems to be a "Chevy thing" as far as that's concerned. (the switching gears thing) My 02 cavalier as well as my mom's trailblazer do the same thing and neither have had any issues with the tranny other than that occasional quirk. As far as the choking issue, i've learned it can be several things.. 1.)as stated above, your cat could be clogged. 2.) you could have a fuel filter that has gone bad. 3.) fuel line leak somewhere. 4.)bad gasoline (it DOES happen) 5.) fuel pump going bad. Check all the easily check-able things before spending a ton of money replacing everything.
