idk what 07ss you were driving but i can assure you that ive broken 113 by a wide margin while stock. ive never heard of a mazda 6 gt, and the rx8 is cheeks. my buddy has the speed 3 and i definitelty think after driving both cars that the monte would hand him his *** hands down. here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWxl4u5SIrk this is a gxp but its the same drive train. same car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9hfG2ugqts and to my knowledge the diablo will tune out the governor to 158 which i havent gone to in this car cause by 140 i was crappin myself during a race with a 335i. the whole time i was thinking about what i would say to the cop once i got pulled over. if you would really like i could put the factory tune in the car and video tape it and see when it actually hits the governor.

 

To the best of my knowledge, the 06-07 SS could peg the speedo (140MPH) bone stock with now problem.

The 3.5L is speed limited at 107 MPH, and the 3.9L is speed limited at 113 MPH.

I've driven an Acura TL base, and Type S. The Monte SS V8 would wax a regular TL and probably be neck and neck with, or even slightly beat the Type S. They make about the same HP, but the Monte has much more torque.

 

what type of montys are you finding that are the ss that can go that fast. the mazda 6 gt is just a emblem for the v6 vvt type of a car that type of car goes well over 180 if the track was long enough. again use to demo all four cars for the dealer that i worked for and those four are the ones besides the montys people got in the d.c. area. the mazda 3 speed is only a turbo 4 cylender you cant really compare a four cylender to a v6or a v8.

 

I have a 07 SS and we picked it up a week ago and coming home from SD we did 124+ a number of times no limiter

 

ok first things first. the mazda 6 with the v6 is a pig. its 220hp ive driven the car, and your right there is no comparison. the speed3 is 260hp and the monte is 303hp. ive driven them all and i can assure you that the 6 isnt in the same league. the monte turned a little more the 4000rpm at a little under 140mph i cant get the pic up cause i forgot my password to verizon pix place ill call tomorrow and fix that. the car is probably good for 6300rpm before it goes into valve float. no matter how you look at it thats more then 113. the the real question is what 06-07ss montys are you finding that are limited at 113? its irrelevant if the car is front wheel drive or not. that has nothing to do with the situation. i wont claim to know the top speed of the car at the end of 4th is but you should know that the car has an Ls motor with gearing that i believe to be in the 260s with an overdrive. if you can get a stock 06-07ss to hit a limiter at 113 you can have mine. and so you know me and my buddy beat an rx8 with his speed3 like we caught it stealing from us. the guy felt like an ***. the worst part was his car was new with the temp plate and he asked what kinda car we were in. the thing was parked right next to the rx8 at the dealer.

 

113 is the truth, for 2004 monte carlos atleast...but that was of course before i took out the governor put in a high intake and a cherry bomb exhaust along with my brand spankin new turbo that i had to smash in there...dont even get me started on how i came up with the idea to bypass the computer and add a turbo, and then actually got it to work with a little tuning...but now i can easily turn traction control off and rev to 5,500 RPM and let loose and my front axle hasnt broken yet. 135 is my top speed in this car, that was ***** to the walls i was going 135 for like 2 minutes straight wouldnt go ANY faster, just refused...and then i hit a small bump, slid, slid, slid...going 100 mph sideways on the highway with a semi headed straight for me...fmfl...good thing i didnt sit in one place burning my front tires off very much, because without the grip i had on them, probably wouldve gotten t-boned by a semi at 75+MPH...not to mention i passed a cop a little while back, he didnt care at all lol

You talk about in an 04 monte, taking out the governor putting in a turbo.

Then mention it was in the 05. Blowing smoke is fun, but you don't have to prove yourself here. We are all level headed car owners who like cars, not made up stories.

 

i wasnt making up a story dude...i just had a typo, and its funny cuz my brother didnt do any of the work on his monte, me and my dad did...
