Hi Rodney `Jay & Welcome to the MCF

I have to ask ? Do you play basketball (being 6'6")
Everyone wants to `go fast, but going fast can be expensive 4-Sure...Get your speed fix at a track or other venue `if you want to keep your drivers license & $'s (WoW, I'm sounding like an adult lol)...

You have several choices in engines in a 2002-2004 Monte Carlo, but all of them can get decent MPG's if you don't drive them on the street as `if you are in a Race

Explore the MCF and you will learn tons of information about the awesome Chevy Monte Carlo's...

Do you already have your DL ? When do you plan on purchasing your Monte Carlo ?

Oh, color is a individual choice & I would choose what you prefer....Make sure you do your homework b-4 you buy & there are several sites that give good tips on how to buy a good use car (Just do a search)..

Good Luck to you & keep us updated...

Peace/Out

Greetings!

An '02-'04 SS is going to have the 3.8 engine which gets fairly decent gas mileage. I'm averaging 19.3 mpg with 95% city driving and 5% highway driving. Color? White of course...

Truthfully, you'll be happier finding an 04-05 SS with the supercharger.

MPG depends how much you put your foot into it (or keep it out of it). It's all based on driving style.

Word of advice.... It's fun to drive fast, find a track to do it on. That attitude is what makes insurance rates on young men high. And a bigger issue, you are a young guy and driving fast might as well paint a target on yourself. Some good advice, find local auto-cross meets or drag strips where you can legally drive as fast as you can push it.

Best of luck on your search, I hope you can find what you are looking for.

00-05 monte ss is the same body style. 00-03 was a 3.8 and in 04-05 it was either a 3.8 or a supercharged 3.8

either one supercharged or not is fun to drive. i bought one that wasnt supercharged and turboed it and love it. there is so many mods you can do to the 3.8 it will make your head spin lol.

color choice: only you can decide that, i love my charcoal but i like black, white, red, blue as well.

II have an 04 ss supercharged that is victory red. its basically the same car as the dale jr edition without the jr accents. It is fun to drive and fairly good on gas if you drive it easily. just remember a supercharged 3800 needs premium gas which does add a few dollars to each fill up.
