I also had my Onstar upgraded to digital last summer on my 2004 Dale Jr. They do not give you the sharkfin antenna on the roof with the upgrade. You get a different version of the original antenna that is mounted on your back glass. As others have stated, all of the original Onstar equipment is worthless. I do believe though that if you ever want to convert to digital, you have to have the original module as it is sent back to Onstar.

The antenna on the roof behind the sunroof on our 2004's is the XM radio antenna.

Yeah, that antenna is useless. It's for analog service only.
