I have been installing a security system in my 1996 monte and have everything installed correctly except I cannot get the trunk release to work. I have tried using a relay and even bypassed the stock remote module. The relay is in perfect working condition but will not trigger from the (-) output wire from the security systems brain. the signal wires uses a 250mA signal but it will not switch the relay to trigger the trunk release, I've also tested the truck release solenoid and it works fine.

 

does anyone have a wiring diagram showing an aftermarket trunk release wired to a 5th gen monte.

our car energizes the trunk release using +12v so 86 and 87 on your relay would be 12v+ then 85 is your trunk wire from your security unit and 30 goes to the + side of your soleniod. or the soleniod side of the switch inside the car
