The Monte is dead to me
Well **** just got real, ran it without a belt and it sounded just fine. Checked every pulley and they all spun by hand at a consistent rate. Put it all back together and let it idle for 30 min with no issues, drove it around town, started of gently and went WOT a few times with no issues and the ac on 5. Pulled over and removed the fan relays and drove it around the block a few times until it got up to about 240-250 and it was still going strong. Put the relays back in and went to the highway and kept it around 80mph, went 15mi and turned around and parked it at home.
Not a single issue, what the hell is going on? I'm tempted to just label the issue an electrical demon and be done with it but I know yall are gonna have some better ideas lol.

Maybe the voltage booster screwed with some stuff and you just so happened to over heat at the same time? Could be one of your coolant hoses is leaking and caused the coolant to go everywhere.
Didn't have time to update yesterday, but i drove it to work. It made the trip there with no issues, coming home it was hitting 210-215 on the highway going 75 with the heater on. when turning the heater off it quickly jumps up to about 225-235. Way to hot considering it was moving and 80* out. I run into issues like this every time it gets warm. Last August I did the head gaskets and every thing up from there, along with a new radiator and a VERY through flush of the cooling system thinking I could finally make it reliable again...
I'll be putting it in the for sale section tonight some time, craigslist will wait because I'd prefer to see it go to an MCF family member lol. I'll probably end up with a monte carlo knight's crest tattoo with the money I get from selling it so it wont be forgotten
It's been a good car, I still love it, but its time to move to something more reliable with less miles, I wish I could just leave it in my garage and make it a project car but the GF wont let me

Before you go getting rid of it have you checked the thermostat and rad hoses? Also the radiator cap. Any of those could possible cause this issue. Especially if you have brand new gaskets.
None of the hoses are leaking and the thermostat was bought earlier last summer, looking at it I cant see any issues. I'm a bit tempted to run it without a thermostat and go on a joy ride for a few hours when it warms up tomorrow but if that ends up being the issue I'm gonna get ride of the car for making me look like an idiot lol.

But, I am sad it's pushed you to this point, but there has to be a time to cut your loses and if you feel this is that time, do what you need to be comfortable. You can't earn a living very well if you can't get to your job.
As for the GF, you're not married yet lol.
here in michigan, we can have some pretty hot summers, and on the worst of days last summer when we had 90-100* weather for a week, my stock never goes above 200* and I also have an 80 mile (round trip) commute to work.
If mine broke 200* I would also be scared.

Well it seems no one wants to buy the monte since it looks like Frankenstein, but my dad wants it and is willing to pay for parts to get it fixed. So it looks like we're back to trouble shooting.
At this point I've come up with a few theories, I'm missing my air dam and the other plastic peices that go under the engine and bumper so airflow to the rad is most likely an issue. The inlet from my hood scoop is positioned just over the UIM and I'm starting to think its causing hot air to recirculate around the engine compartment rather than be pushed out. I'm also a bit concerned that the CAI and all the ported parts might be throwing off the AFR and causing issues, although i have an obdii bluetooth and Torque and OBdWiz cant find anything to confirm that.
I think I'm gonna make a run to the junkyard and try to find the airdam and other plastic panels to help with flow, remove the t-stat, and do one hell of a radiator flush and see how it runs after that. I can shove some rags in the scoop to see if that's causing airflow issues or not.
Yall got any other ideas? My dad is out of a car right now and I'd like to give him something reliable, but without a clear course of action I'm scared I'll just be wasting cash.
