HID conversion kit, High Beam Out message
#11
do like i did , 04 mc ss here , get the bbengineering kit to shut off auto and drl lights and i have the 35w ddm tuning hids in there and love it . I had to tape my slim ballasts to the headlight itself , no room to put it anywhere and the wire was too shirt to go anywhere else.

I wish I could help out here. I like the idea of running the fog lights so they can be turned on when I feel like it. Like my '06 Monte does.
I did buy the ultrastar replacement bulbs for the '03 Pace car. 9006 for the low beams, then the 9005 Cool Blues for the high beams. I was hoping for something better then a stock bulb.

I have a solution for what you want to do. There is a bypass kit to get around the DLR'S http://www.bbengineer.com/cars/impala/store.htm#DRL_ALC I used this kit and it got rid of the message.

I had the same problem. Issue is that when u turn on the car during the day, the car wants to use the dim fillament in the stock high bulb as the drl, my solution, cover up the light sensor on the dash, then u have dull control of ur headlights. It then defaults to your low beam bulbs and u can run ur fogs and just ur amber running lights during the day, or lows and fogs, or just the ambers or in my case led running lights. High beams still work when i want them to, and there isnt ever an error message.
