Looking for a solution here... help is appreciated.

2003 Chevy Monte Carlo, High Beam Out light on. When I turn on my headlights, the high beams turn on as well and stay on, and the high beam out light comes on. Both high beams illuminate.

The same situation happens at night when the lights turn on automatically. If at night with the headlamps on, and I pull the dimmer switch to the first position, the running lights stay on but the headlights/high beams turn off. If I pull the lever all the way out to the headlight position, I am back in the same situation with headlights/high beams on.

With the headlights in the off position(during daylight), I pull back the control lever on the steering column to flash the high beams and they illuminate; as I release the lever they turn off.

Is this possibly a wiring error? Broken switch?
