Default HID conversion kit, High Beam Out message

Im sorry if this post seems repetitive, but I have been searching and cant seem to find the answer I am looking for, so here it is....

I have a 2004 Monte Carlo, I put in HID high and low beams, so both the 9005 and 9006 kits. Due to the DRL's (daytime running lights) and the Auto turn on lights, I had to use relays which only use one factory connection per ballast. So in my car have the ballast closest to the batter plugged into the factory wiring, and then the relay piggy tails off of that ballast and into the driver side ballast, leaving the driver side factory wiring for both the high and low beams unplugged. This gives me a high beam out message since its not plugged in. Does anyone have a fix for this? Anyway of tricking the car to thinking that harness is plugged in?

Also I was wondering if anyone has came up with a way to run the fog lighs automatically with the low beams, like the grand prix's do? I have been wanting to do this for a while. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to help out.

why do you have hid's as highs? they take a while to heat up and are kind of dangerous due to them sometimes not turning on when needed, im not really sure how to fix this though

I have the HID's cuz my girlfriend bought them for me with the lows, so I installed them. I really only use them when Im going snowboarding and have to take the 219 wich is a long, narrow, dark route I take to the slopes. The low beams are bright but dont project enough and I like the brightness of the HID highs compared to my regular high beams. The 10 seconds it takes to get to full brightness in my case is well worth it. Plus it only takes 10-15 seconds to get to full brightness the first time you use them for that drive because they have to heat up. I usually turn them on for 5 minutes before we leave to let them warm up, so that when I do switch back and forth, it usually pretty instant. If anyone else has any input on either getting the High beam out light to cease or how to hook up the fog light with the low beams, please feel free to post and help out. Im sure there are tons of people that would like to know how to run their fog lights automatically, atleast I def do. Thanks guys/girls.

To run your foglights automatically, clip the positive wire, and connect it to the positive on the low beams, before the HID ballast. Mine are hooked that way, but onto the parking lights, and I put in a switch.

makes sense to me i guess haha

you may be able to find a simulator for that but i havent seen one anywhere and as far as fog lights go, just keep them on when you leave the car and then theyll always be on?

Thanks Enzo. Makes sense to me. I didn know if there was another way too, thats why I am asking, but Ill have to do that. As far as your post Trewyn, I have tried that, it automatically shuts them off when you shut the car off, and then when you start the car up again, you have to turn them back on with the button. Anyone know a way yet of tricking the car into thinking the driver side high beam is still plugged in though, since I have the HID highs with a relay, you dont use one of the factory harnesses (in my case the drivers side).

ahh, i wasnt sure, i dont have fogs yet lol, i dont think there would be a problem at all going off of the daytime running lights or headlights because they arent taking a whole lot of power, what you could also do is possibly run it off of a remote wire from an amp or something, but that is kind of a lot of power for a small wire, but just a thought
