I know there are a lot of forums on the HID kits and what not, but I have yet to find the answer for my problem. I purchased and HID conversion kid, 9005 and 9006 for the high and low beams in my 2004 Monte Carlo SS. I ran relays for both of them due to the daytim running lights and auto turn on lights. The lights work great, both high and low beams, but the problem I run into is that during the day, when the DRLs are supposed to be on, I get a message "high beam out" that displays. This is a result of using the relay because when you use a relay you only hookup one of the factory connections to the ballast and then that ballast runs to the other ballast. My question is, does anybody know a fix for this "High beam out" message or is it something I just have to deal with?

 

How old is this HID setup? I have a EFX HID setup on my 07 MC and have no problems whatsoever. No relays no error messages. Sounds like something you might just have to deal with.
