Generally from what I have heard on here, people don't like to try and make there V6 Monte Carlos louder or much louder. As far as I know no one here has cammed there car on here. I have however found a video of someone camming an 07 Monte Carlo SS. But the video was unfortunately filmed with a potato and has horrible sound.

There's been plenty of 3800 cammed cars, supercharged, turboed.. etc.. They all sound like a pissed off weed whacker under power.
If you want a muscle car sound, you want a v8. There is no argument there.

i have also cammed turbo monte.... i am running a stage 5 turbo cam in this engine and yes it is turbo charged thats why it sounds so different then any other 3800. i am also not running any exhaust, this is open down pipe. here is a few links

Sweet, you should post some pics and videos of the bikes I got out of the bikes and built turbo Monte. She is street driven and also a blast at the track. She will go a high 11- low 12 if I could hook off the line.

Correct me if I'm wrong any of you more experienced than me but if your looking for a better sound and the performance wouldn't the exhaust be a netter bet? If the cam isn't gonna boost the performance that much or give you a muscle car sound you can tune the exhaust and get that lower sound and performance for a lot cheaper. I know my exhaust is custom and it sounds a lot better than anu of the other 3800 engines I have heard, even an 06 series III supercharged. I think the exhaust is your best bet for what you want to do.

They do have good idles sometimes depending on the exhaust you go with, but that generally results in having a loud and annoying raspy sound as you get up in the RPMs.
Basically, 3800s can have good idles, but don't get your hopes up on it sounding good throughout the RPMs.

A cam will give you the "lope" sound which sounds awesome. A exhaust well..... unless your a turbo car if its loud it won't sound good under acceleration from what I've seen.
