Im glad he didn't ask for me to show him the car or anything.. after he left I went out to yank one of the fasteners in my rear sport trim & watched his car sloooooowwwwly roll out of the parkinglot. (just a bit creepy...)

Sometimes it gets to the point were I want to chop my hair short again & just not care then maybe I'll get a little more respect than now.

 

Thats the thing , perhaps he does respect you and your knowledge. Why else would he want to talk shop with you. He knows your a car savy person and he's just trying to come across as somewhat knowledgable to you. Not trying to disrespect you, just trying to be respected in return. Just having a trip to the autoparts store and make a time of it, not just some lame *** gomer coming in and dutifully asking for a part and leaving. Just doing the car guy thing... Guess in the end, you have to follow your gut instinct on these matters though. Until then it's business as usual... Pick your battles..

 

I stopped wasting gas on V6 mustangs back in 05 when I cammed my N/A motor. lol

 

GM has a performance hierarchy, NOTHING on a GM label will have more HP then the current year Vette. Such as my friend has an '89 Turbo Trans Am. From the factory it was rated about 10+ HP LESS then the Vette (at the time the Vette was like 250ish HP). He's read numerous articles of owners going Showroom-to-Dyno, stock the car was pulling over 300HP. But if GM announced that, it could hurt Vette sales (and they did not want that to happen).

 

Same deal with the LT & LS Camaros & Trans Ama, they had the same hp as Vette but got rated less
