6th Gen ('00-'05): Car shouts off
Two questions:
-when you say other gears, do you mean if you put it in 1/2/3, it drives fine, but in D it dies?
-does it only happen when you press the gas? What if you just let it idle up to speed before applying throttle?
The gear shouldn't be able to kill the engine - due to the torque converter, the engine can idle even with a fully stopped input shaft, so any rotation on the input shaft should be easier on the engine. Unless its trying to lock the converter by mistake or the engine has other issues.
