Default shaking 03 Monte Carlo when accelerating

Hello,

I have an 03 Monte Carlo SS with a 3.8 and it has begun to vibrate bad when I accelerate at any speed. I had the transmission rebuilt, the torque converter replaced a new wheel assembly on the left front and it still shakes so bad you just about can't stand it. When I left off the foot-feed it smooths right out. I took it to a mechanic and was told to just let what ever is wrong go out and then it will be easy to find the problem.

I was just wondering if anyone has come across a situation like mine. If you, I would really appreciate any information as to the source of this problem.

Thank you

I wonder if it's an engine mount going bad?

Too many variables. Could be a number of items in the suspension. Hopefully it will be an obvious one and a quick/easy/cheap fix!

If its shaking under acceleration, but stops when u let off throttle. I'd say good chance its a drive axle.

Default whole lotta shakin' goin on

Thanks for all the input. I'm a minister and I've had several funerals so I have been very busy.

I had the motor mounts checked and they said they were fine. I was wondering if it could be the bushings in the control arm on one or both sides? I don't know much about cars so I'm in the dark.

Once again, thanks for all the help.

It could be a drive axle or a bad tire. As maniac said tho it could be any number of things.

We had the same thing in our -04- especially when we were turning right, going down hill and accellerating (think on ramp of interstate).

replaced axles and we are golden. CV joints go bad. Ours went bad around 90,000 miles

Just had the same problem w/ mine, hit the gas and you feel you have a bad flat or the lugs came loose, let off the gas and it's smooth as silk pie. I thought it was the cv joints but I've never had any go bad before...is there anything in the transmission that could cause this?

My 2000 monte did that when shifting. MY problem was a bad sensor on the transmission and you can't fix it yourself. You have to drill a whole through the valve body and drop the engine to get to it and you install a kit. It costs anywhere from $700-$900 for someone to do it. I paid $900. All the transmissions have the same problem, just a matter of time. Malibus and whichever car has that transmission.

Default Shaking monte

I've had the transmission repaired and the torque converter replaced and it still shakes when you accelerate. I'm of the opinion now that it must be the drive axle or something in the drive train. When the car shakes the steering wheel doesn't and when you coast it stops shaking. It has to be something that happens when there is torque from the acceleration.

I'm stumped and shaking! Thanks for the continued input.
