Another dumb question from Pizzarrhea.
I went to another garage and he said it doesn't sound like the rack & pinion is the problem, a friend from UTI said it sounds like the brakes. This is too much haha, I'm bringing it to a garage tomorrow for a test drive so they can figure it out.
rack and pinion? i should have thought of that! we here at the shop were dealing with a couple of cars with that problem yesterday lol epic failure! but yeah power steering wayyyyy down there. It's hella hard for me to reach. But yeah just check your fluids and hopefully you will find the problem
The steering being tight was the power steering pump, but the 1st thing you posted wasn't about the steering, it was about the ABS lights. That's a different problem all together, and that probably wasn't resolved, and you WILL have it happen again.
The problem there is that when you do a HARD turn the wheel speed sensor wiring from the hub pulls on the connector attached it, and there is a slight amount of corrosion in the connection. You need to take the connection apart and put it back together a few times to clean the connections, blow it all out good, maybe even use some contact cleaner on it. Then spray a little WD-40 on everything but the metal connectors and put it back together, The WD-40 will help absorb the moisture and keep the connector sealed. You might have to do this about once a year. I do.
When the ABS lights go on again, you know what to do.
Glad you got your power steering fixed.
