Default Dumb Question

Whats the fuel tank capacity of my monte? I don't have the factory manual so I don't really know. I had a close call late Friday night. I went to a concert that was about 70 miles away in lowell Mass. Had just under half a tank and forgot to fill up on the way down. Decided I would fill up once I crossed back into new hampshire to avoid the high gas prices in Mass. Halfway back the gas light came on at around midnight and it took 20 miles before I found an open gas station. I found one by sh*t luck and took 16 gallons. This is the 1st time I've run it low, usually I fill it up at half but I'm curious as to how big the tank is for future referance.

Now I need to burn all this lousy cumby's gas, lol. Dale's used to shell v-power

It should hold 17 gallons. Far from a "dumb" question

wow so I was cutting it close, I had another 40 miles to get home when I filled up so I would have run out 10 miles short. i was nervous. I kept telling tom tom to find the nearest gas station and every single one was closed. We must have tried 7 or 8. Finally I programed the gps to go home so I could get back to the highway and try the next few exits up. I rounded the 1st corner and found an open cumbys.

My Dale also loves the V-Power, it's pricey though.

I only use Ultra94. Sunoco is the official fuel of Nascar, but I'm pretty sure that isn't Ultra94 those guys are using...

Vpower here is actually no different in price then high test at other stores. No its 2.90 ish a gallon. Shell is also the only place around here that sells top tier fuel which is another reason I use them

The actual capacity as listed in the owners manual is 17.5 Gallons.

I have on many many occasions pulled up to a gas pump, filled up (and topped off) and had it take 18.1 or even 18.3 gallons. So I think its safe to say it is an 18 gallon tank if you top it off. (which I know you're not supposed to do, lol)

I always keep my tank empty and drive around with the fuel light on. It keeps my car lighter so I can race mustangs from the lights and win. It's worth like 20HP!
