Tell me!

I know all too well what cold weather can do to a car battery. And it can make a tire leak down.

I've never owned a car before that came with tire pressure sensors. It's a new experience for me.

When the weather turns cold, the air in the tires contracts, lowering the tire pressure. If it isn't too cold out, when you drive, the tires will warm up and the air inside the tires will expand from the heat, raise the pressure and turn the low tire indicator off. If it is really cold, like -25F here, it won't warm enough to make the indicator turn off until the outside temps get nice again.

My 07 came up with low pressure the other night when it was 10 degrees out. Started driving and 5 miles later it came back up to 30psi in all tires. You would think GM would tie in the Ambient Temp sensor and tire readings and vehicle speed and or engine run time, to determine if it is really low or just cold weather.
