I changed mine last week. I also changed the filter in my Dad's 08 Buick Lucerne. It was a pain in the butt! The frame is held in by a clip that you have to remove before you can take the old filter out. I thought it would be easy cause the compartment has it's own door you have to remove - not like taking apart part of the cowl of the Monte.

Saw this was up again so Id give a little story. The first time i changed mine, I just couldnt find it. I looked and looked then looked some more. Where was it?? It didnt have one? Yep, somone didnt put one back in. The space under the filter (well, where the filter was supposed to go) was just nasty and one of the tightest places to clean. But anyway, thats all fixed these days, and I now have a filter in there. Cant figure why sombody would just not put the filter back in??

i think that was a joke, im doing a video on this, i will post it when done, just get a standard cabin air filter, it only needs to filter the air, not give you more horsepower.

The main selling point of K&N filters is just that you don't have to keep buying filters, that they are reusable, you just have to wash it and oil it.

That was kinda what I was thinking. Just be easier because when I clean my air filter I could have just cleaned my cabin filter to. Would have been much easier and I guess cheaper in the long run.

once every other year or so tho, or once a year either way, i dont think youll really add of the price to be the price of a k&n, and for a cabin air filter they dont advertise anything great, like with their air filters they guarantee horsepower, but with you changing the cabin filter every 75k miles or so, you do that 4 times to equal the k&n being about 4x as much, your at 300k miles which is pretty far out there to be running all factory car.

in other words, i dont know if the monte will last long enough to make the k&n worth it lol

that was a lot of typing and may not even make sense because im tired but i tried lol

hahah no I get what your saying. It does make sense. I was kind of thinking at it from a different angle but your right. I know the k&n is made a lot diff and wouldnt even work in the cabin. so yeah doesnt make sense. oh well thanks
