Repair Guide: 6th Gen Cabin Air Filter Replacement
#13
Great write up Taz! I changed my 05 when I got it at 60k miles - have no idea if it was ever done by the previous owner. I think I have changed the 03's once (it only has 25k miles on it). I might change my 05's once a year (approx 12k miles per year).

My AC-Delco cabin filter was $16.34 at rockauto.com. I had five items total and shipping was $9+ change. I replaced all of the small push pins on the cowl from some from the dealer. The new ones had a gasket around the push pin.
The quality of the aftermarket cabin filter that was in the car was no where close to the quality of the AC-Delco one. I don't know what brand it was. At least I should be good for awhile.

....cabin air filter......
.....Now that's Two items that I need to check into.
1. Supercharger Oil
2. Cabin Air Filter
I have no idea if the first owner ever did both ?
I have 57,400k on it now. Bought it with 56k on the OD.
Thanks Taz for the info.

I found a good amount of water on my floorboards... First thing I did was went out and bought a new cabin air filter.
Seems that my weatherstripping took a crap on me, and it's time to look into the fix for that weatherstrip... RTV'd it into place for now, but I know you can buy a plastic piece that replaced the weather stripping completely and will NEVER let water in.

I just thought I would post additional Diagrams/ Directions that I just found, even though they say the samething pretty much.

I apparently need to do this. LOL. I thought it was an option I didnt have because on my Mom's Bonneville, there is an obvious "door" that you just pop off, and bam, there is the filter. I didn't see the door on my car, so assumed I just didn't have the filter. Needless to say, I was wrong, its just more barried in the Monte! Will be changing soon!
