So i went to see my car today to give the final go for painting the hood and my body shop guy tells me the hood fits great, except that on the passenger side the hood doesnt sit flush, its lower than the fender. other than that, the gaps are normal for aftermarket hood and everything else is fine. he said that the cost to make it all flush would be labor intensive because of the fiberglass, so i just told him to go on without it. we will see how it comes out. My slp intake arrived today and it seems like the intake for the 99-03 pontiac grand am ram air intake will work just fine on with my hood, but we will see once in install it. my monte is black on black and i wanted the grille in the hood scoop to be a different color besides black, but cant think of a good color to make just the grille. any ideas? kinda thinking like a dark gray or maybe red to match the SS badging on the sides of the car, what do you think?

UPDATE::::


So i got my car back, looks soo nice with the hood and the new black projector headlamp housings! i decided to go with black paint for the grille in the hood, but might change it when i take off the emblems and get them all painted on instead. Pics coming soon!

As for my idea with the slp ram air intake, it looks like it might not work. i sized up the new airbox to myairbox and its bigger, and i dont think the holes will match up. any ideas. The slp ram air intake is supposed to be for the grand am's with the ram air hood, i just hoped they would fit my 03 ss. anything would help to get me to be able to fit this in my car. Also, i was thinking, why not just buy a big K and N cone filter and put it on my intake where the bellow connects to the airbox, and just take out the stock airbox. Thats would be the same thing as buying a K and N intake, except saving like 200 bucks, right?
