Thanks for the feedback Matt. Perhaps what I'm feeling is normal then. If anyone else has any experience with this setup (3.8/4t65e) I'd like to hear it. I'll try to worry less.

Default tc lock out

i have a 2000 mc ss and i also feel the tc lock out. it comes right after 3rd gear when driving slow. it feels like a long shift. i thougt my car had 5 gears until i figured out what it was doing.

What really weird is that the tcc apply for 2nd is set to 255mph, while the tcc apply for 3rd is 27mph and 4th is 44mph.

my 99z34 shift at 11, 19 and 45

(BlownUptoHigh) i have thought about that too. i cant remember off the top of my head but thinking two things. 1) the TCC wont apply when in 1st or 2nd cause those are not economy gears... or 2) that they tables are just labeled wrong in the tuners?

(JaxJim) i wish i would have seen this post back in the day when you started it. the easiest way to see if it a shift and not the converter is to press the brake ever so slightly. when the brake is depressed it releases the TCC.

I am not around my tuning laptop right now, but if you want i can send you a full copy of the trans shift points and TCC settings. when i set up shift points for my tunes and PCMs i sell, i graph all the shift data. i don't normally send it out but i feel it is a great aid in knowing how the car shifts and should function.

it is a shame that tuners in your area don't want to help. i do charge for tuning but if someone local just needs some minimal things adjusted like changing fan temps and raising something as easy as the TCC points then i wouldn't charge even half of what i normally charge for tuning.

My custom tunes have fully tweaked shift tables, Fuel trim calibration, and adj of spark. in addition to all the fans and SES code deletions, adjusting the Rev limiter to be safer, tops speed gov remove.... there is prob much more i cant think of off the top of my head that i tweak as well.... also can't put all my secrets out on the table :-P

but if you, or anyone else for that mater, want these tables tweaked or all the way up to a full tune just let me know and we can figure it all out.
