base warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles
Most likely the speedo problem will be covered under it

I would think the problem will be with the main ecm.

Does the DIC work?

Yea, that works, well it's functional. Alot of the features will display with zero's like mpg etc due to no speedometer i guess.

Speed o meter runs off a sensor on the transmission
All the speed o / odmeter is a device that shows the output of the transmission
Speed sensor tells the ecm what the car is doing, in turn the ecm tells the driver thru the speed o
not as sample as that but as close as I can explain it

You might want to take the car to AutoZone and hook a reader to it

these might be a couple of codes that they might pull from it
[*]P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit[*]P0501 - Vehicle Speed Sensor Range/Performance[*]P0502 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit Low Input[*]P0503 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit Intermittent

The change in shift points is because the ecm is not getting a vehicle speed reading so the computer shifting the car in default mode
