OK, I did some re-researching on the Bonnie forum (been a while since I had to pull this info on the water pump). Keep this in mind for future reference (as if the pump is not bad, I would not worry about it, but if/when it fails, UPGRADE). Also, I wonder if the original owner of your S3 had a pump fail and get a S2 style replacement (since they are interchangeable, that's easy to see happening).
To get the cat impeller your options are:
1. - Buy a S1 pump from the parts store. Your S2 pulley will not fit, as the hub is different. Solution, either buy a new pulley or hit up a salvage yard and get one from a S1 car.
2. - Buy a S3 AC Delco water pump (uses the same pulley as the S2). AC Delco Part Number 252693.
Here's a good link on the subject:

Again, food for thought. Given anymore thought to what to do about the PCV vac issue??

Even the curved profile of the casting helps with flow. It's a gradual lift towards the shaft when compared to the S2 pump.

:O My motor has 175k, hope mine won't be going anytime soon. I see in your sig it's an L26.. I thought you said it was an Impala motor, the Impala had a L36 just like our cars.. you know with the L26 you'll be dropping about 30hp right?
how will I lose 30hp?
Are you saying that i'll have less HP than a 3.4 monte?
easy..... lol
So I got to clean up the heads some (forgot to get pics
haha), also have a question about the gaskets, I set them on the motor and noticed that the there's tiny holes where the top coolant ports are on the block. The original GM gaskets were the same way, aren't they supposed to be fully open? Wonder why they're like that
lol

haha Thanks mike
I'm pretty sure the L26 has less horsepower, like 170 or 174.. then again I wasn't looking at one from an 05 GP.. cause I thought the motor came from an Impala which wouldn't have been possible since it was an L26 anyways, lol.
