Finally got the springs off! lol
going to clean up the heads tomorrow and install the new valve seals.
on the old seals, do i just yank them out? lol
can i soak these pieces in gas to clean them up a little? also does anyone know where i can get an EGR block off plate to cover up the port on the UIM?

also picked up some set bolts and a 1/2" tap to block off the coolant holes on the LIM. i forgot to buy the damn drill bit though lol it calls for a 27/64" drill bit cus i bought 1/2" set bolts

I've soaked push rods in kerosene (it's a great degreasing agent) to get any crap that is built up in them OUT. I also cleaned the rockers the same way.
I imagine you could soak the valves in kerosene as well.

When you I put the set screws in my LIM, I used JB Weld on the threads just to help "seal" everything. You could use thread sealant or teflon tape.

Dude, I am telling ya, this beast is going to run GREAT when you are done, like BRAND new!

ZZP sells the EGR block off plates - I think it should fit the Series III > ZZPerformance - EGR Block Off Plate #

Back in the day we used paint stripper to clean valves, etc. Of course a lot of people like to use bench grinders with a wire wheel.

Hmm we'll see, I'm going to try purple power degreaser first and see what that does And yep, I'm going to use thread sealant for the bolts
I really wanna finish it up already I can't wait to fire it up!!

Thanks mike, I'm going to just put a set bolt in it lol

well i was checking out my zzp adapter, thinking maybe i should tap into it for the pcv line like this guy did....

but then i realized its very difficult, take a look. I'd have to drill down at an angle to clear the bolt hole that goes to the UIM. i marked the path with sharpie and where the black dot is, is where the port on the TB meets the adapter i think im just going to tap into my intake elbow and run a hose from there

another question. would it be ok to port out my TB outlet to get rid of that top and bottom edge where it meets the adapter?

oh another thing lol, i noticed this hole in the block, is it a vent hole for the flywheel or something? cus i dont remember removing anything from it
when i go to clean up the leftover head gasket, if any debris falls into the coolant ports could i just run water through through the block to get it out?

Frank,

Go back to my post #144:
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...15/#post481691
and post #145:

They have pics and explanation of a thought I had to make this PCV stuff REAL easy!
On the top of the L67 and L36 TB is a port that is plugged and just like the port the current PCV system uses, this port is PRE throttle plate both after the MAF. Just open it, tap it, put a 90 degree connector on it and you can go then hook up to the nipple on the UIM. Should be REAL easy (coming from the guy who has NOT worked with an L26 UIM).

No need to mod the adaptor plate. BTW - I don't think your plan to drill through and join the port on the TB to the UIM the way you mentioned will work. The "plumbing" for the PCV system on the L26 UIM is not there like it is on the L36 UIM. That will probably result in a messed up/uncontrolled idle.

Here's the pic from post 144:

Take the green arrow, join it to the nipple on the UIM. PCV system should be solved.

i see what you're saying by tapping to the top of my L36 TB, but wont that create a problem with the IAC sensor? i just removed the IAC and its a passage way from in front of the throttle plate to the IAC which is behind the throttle plate
check it out

its sort of like a t passage way and then it goes down in front of the throttle plate. its blocked off on top and behind the TB

Got threads in the LIM and put the bolts in same thing on the UIM EVAP port, I'm going to put JB weld over top of the bolt.. Sand it an paint over it as if it was never there lol
The bolts are just temporarily on there, going to use sealant on the threads when the time comes

Its going to clean up nice

Hmm, I will admit, I did not take the IAC into consideration, I did not think they was a shared space.

I am really thinking it's still worth a try, just so long as you can avoid cutting oss the passage that goes to the IAC. Now I'm running on complete theory that the amount of air flow from the inside of the TB is enough for the IAC and the PCV system. I honestly don't have an answer to that. But in terms of trying to do something simple, you could give it a go and if it doesn't work, go for Plan B and mess with the adapter plate.

I really dont know at this point lol I'll figure something out, there's still time
If I don't come up with nothing then I'll just attach a breather on it and tuck it away somewhere :p haha
I tried googling to see how it's setup on a GP but couldn't find a good pic, I guess it's attached to the air tube at the other end
