My monte is dead :(
Don't fret about the mods. You'll be a pro at taking apart the top-half of the engine by the end of this and you'll be able to do it with the engine in
I'm sure Jason can get you the specs, he has a disc with the same information I have in my books.
The thread locker is personal preference. Most bolts come with blue thread locker on them. I know if you use TOO much you can screw up the TQ rating. So I would say on anything that has to be tightened A LOT, use a tiny bit of blue locker. Anything that doesn't have a lot of tq to tighten, I wouldn't do it (since you have to be more precise on those).
And any bolts that are TTY (torque-to-yield) they will stretch at a certain rating, so I wouldn't bother with locking those either.

I'll check the e-mail you sent me later tonight when I am home and see what I can collect for you
This evening is busy, so it might not be until LATE, but sounds like you have a little time until you may need torque specs.
As for the LIM bolts, it probably is a thread locker compound on it. I've done 2-3 3800 LIM gasket jobs, I just cleaned the bolts and torqued them to spec. No issues, no thread locker.
I am anxious to see this ALL completed. Hopefully this engine will serve you super well. Maybe you won't wnat to get rid of this Monte lol!

and i too cant wait to see it done, i cant even imagine it running in my monte yet haha who knows maybe i will keep my monte for a whole lot longer
i still have the polishing to do, thats sure going to take at least 2 days lol
i just removed both heads, going to go pick up that trans case seal later, new head bolts and see if i can get new rocker bolts, turbo monte suggests i get new ones. hopefully they have em at one of the parts stores.
Rocker Bolts are definitely TTY bolts so you CAN'T reuse them.
However you can buy reusable rocker bolts (my ER Rockers have those). This way if you upgrade your rockers down the road, that's one less thing to buy

There's a product called Gasket Cleaner (or oven cleaner, or brake cleaner) that can get a lot of that junk off.
You'll also need a razor blade and a lot of patience for the gasket surface. This is one thing that you REALLY need to take your time on.
Or you can find a local shop that has a cabinet to clean it in no time lol

and would carb cleaner work too? i need to get some anyway for the Alum valve covers and UIM. they have a bunch of gunk on them :p lol
Just try to avoid using steel wool on aluminum stuff lol. I'm not sure if Carb cleaner is as strong as the others, but it's worth a try if you are there already.
Yes I have ZZP's reusable comp cam bolts. Just know that those have a different TQ rating than normal rocker bolts.
I think they are 23ft/lb as opposed to the 12ft/lb+30degree of normal TTY bolts.

especially the surface area where the gaskets sit.
