Using AEM's variable boost controller, I'm 8lbs with it off, on the A setting it's at 15lbs and on the B setting 25lbs.

Previously I could only use the B setting with 104 octane race fuel, now with the recently added Borg-Warner EFI turbo, the Walbro fuel pump, Siemens Deka 80lb injectors and a new tune I can use the B setting with 91 octane. So yeah, I'm telling you, she just pulled so hard that the torque steer came back into the equation of making one pay attention to the task at hand.

I wish I had been of the frame of mind to have offered members a ride at the GM NAt's, but I was somewhat like a Zombie, working on about 3 days minimal sleep from the drive and staying up all night detailing the car. I blew some good opportunities to really go over other members Monte's to see how they did some of their mods.

That is freakin awesome Greg! I would love to see your car sometime. I hope to get to one of the big meets this year and see some of the mods you and others are doing first hand. If the funds hold up I am want to start some engine mods on mine this year. Reading about cars like yours gets me excited about it!

I think you just said "I need to plan better and come out to the 2015 GM Nationals" lol.

In all seriousness, I think you had the longest drive out of any of the MCF.com crew there. I'm happy you were able to make it, considering the difficulty planning that trip. A lot of us enjoyed meeting you and checking out your Monte. It was a good time for sure, despite the rain in the morning.

Man a twisted axle is insane. Maybe try finding some gmr axle flanges that allow you to custom build and adapt porsche 930 axles like is in the gmr trans build book.

I have a set of these flanges but still haven't got around to making the axles, maybe I better get on it sooner than later.

Hey John I was hoping you would read this so I could get your opinion. Well it seems like this astounded you so that concerns me even more. Yeah Matt showed me the axle and his brother and him both agreed it was only a matter of time before it broke. I saw the splines, if you were holding the axle with the tranny side against you, the splines were twisted to the right as they met up against the un-machined axle shaft. You know how fine the splines are, they were twisted about 1/32nd of an inch and about 1/4" up the splines. I know your Monte is a huge power / and monster torque car so I bet you would see this manifest itself at some point to. I'll have to tell Matt about your solution and try to acquire the components you mentioned. Thanks much, definitely respect your opinion and solutions and I like you cannot afford to have a failure like this as I bet some other components might have the domino effect and fail too. Ouch!

Thanks again to your wife and you for all your hospitality at your home in Ford City and at the GM Nationals, you went out of your way to make me not feel like an outsider. Man I'm telling you, my car runs better now than it did at the Nat's. Probably had a couple of the bugs even then, maybe the cat was complicit in it's performance even then.
