Motor mounts
Wzup world. I recently purchased a 2001 Monte Carlo SS n I noticed that the motor mount on the passenger side was cracked. I replaced it then it cracked again soon as I hit the gas...any suggestions? N can anybody tell me exactly how many motor mounts are they.

The upper mount by the coil pack? If so get a coil pack bracket/engine.mount off of a supercharger gp and put it on. There mounts are cast iron and will not break. Be sure to get the coil pack bolts with the supercharged bracket because they are different.
There is the 2 mounts up top, a lower engine mount right behind the crank pulley and a trans mount on the lower drivers side.

The bottom mounts are easy to do yourself, just put the car on stands and then jack the motor up some and they're on both sides of the engine.
You can usually see that they're bad by removing the tires and just looking at them, the stock mounts are liquid filled and they usually crack and blow the liquid everywhere. If it is a mess down there then your mechanic may be right, if he's going to replace the engine and trans mounts and the upper engine mount by the coil pack for $300 that's a good price, but you can do it by yourself fairly easy.
speaking of, I have to do mine soon, crap.. haha it's not a fun process but it is fairly easy, I would recommend going with solid mounts (not poly) from wbodystore or wherever else you can find them. Then you don't have to worry about them bursting.
Good Luck!

If you need lower engine and transmission mounts, I have WBodyStore solid mounts for sale. Make me a reasonable offer on the pair, they can be yours. Here's the thread listing them below:

@CityLifeSS - Since you are a new member, it looks like you can't do private messages yet. But, if you need to get the lower motor mount and lower transmission mount, as I mentioned earlier, I have brand new ones for sale (they are solid rubber instead of the factory hydraulic ones). I was going to use them myself and then had a change in mind.
I'm asking:
- WBS Solid Motor Mount - $60.00 Shipped
- WBS Solid Trans Mount - $50.00 Shipped
If you are interested, I will also entertain reasonable offers for the pair.
