hei ignition

Default hei ignition

Hi i was wondering if someone could tell me how to wire up a 1976 vacum advance distributor in my 1986 monte carlo ss, like what parts i need , what type of wiring, whatever i might need to know, thanks

You are installing an HEI Distributor????
Well just connect the red power wire to the right side of the cap and the Brown Tach Wire to the left side of the cap. The Red power wire is on a connector with a white wire, i believe, just cut the red wire off and use a female connector to connect it to the distributor. There is no need for the white wire... Use manifold vacuum for the vacuum advance, and make sure your on top dead center. I can get pics of what you need to do if you get stuck...
