RE: msd ignition
MSD stands for multiple spark discharge....to get maximum output by your engine, you want the plugs to fire when the piston of that cylinder is directly at TDC, which isnt always the case because the factory distributor sends one spark through each wire in the firing order....MSD sends a steady pulse of 'spark' down each wire, which increases the chances of optimum timing.

i dont mean to hijack..but i thought you guys would find this funny...when i was younger..before i got the mirada..(the car that i race)...my dad had a 1984 Ford 28 foot motorhome...it had a 460 in it..he pulled it and had the heads ported and polished...the block was chopped for compresion, and it was bored 40 over...we put 2 inch race headers, and a high rise intake, with a 850 holley DP on it...the headers led into 4 inch exhaust through some huge flowmasters...it would cruise at 110...we first put it in, and in broke te driveshaft, so we had to have a custom driveshaft made...
