my question is do you know if the trans is ok? when you have the engine out drop the trans pan off and see if there is any metal shavings or funky in there. while you have the egnine out you could replace it at the same time. if you know the trans is fine i would build the engine the way you want it then slide it in.

 

So I ended up missing out on that monte with the blown motor, but something better came along. Its a 2002 Limited Edition SS, White on White with Black Leather interior. Unfortunately, it has an issue too, blown head gasket on the back side of the motor. Should have it running in a week or so unless i come across some other problems. Tomorrow is demolition day, and probably some rebuilding.
