We attended the car show at Lane Automotive in Waterveliet, MI today. About 1,200 cars were there in PERFECT weather. For a $25 donation to Relay for Life, you could put your vehicle on the portable chassis dyno, a Dynojet Research dyno. I missed the pull, and the car, but here is a pic of the top pull board, and note how much this Monte beat the other cars by! WISH I'D BEEN THERE FOR THAT!

So for $25, you KNOW we had to do it!. So what did we get? Well, I got spanked! My wife, LadyT has a '07 Pontiac Solstice GXP with a 2.0L that's been kicked up a little. I wasn't there for that pull Friday night, as I was picking up my car from getting the new stereo system. She surprised EVERYONE, as NO ONE figured she would break 200 WHP, but she pulled 244.38 WHP and 232lbs torque both steady between 5,300 to 6,300 rpm's, where she let off. We are tuned for 7,000 rpms.
The Rock'n Intimidator SS went on this morning, and pulled 213.35 WHP and 231 lbs torque, both peaking at 4,700 rpm's. Here's a couple of pics.

It is FUN to get on a dyno!! When I went ot Carolina Auto Masters he actually wouldn't let me drive it on the dyno . they probbaly warned you about this.. the slightest motion with the hand on a Dyno will make your car want to ****** off... or if your alignment is slightly off your really screwed.

That is CHEAP for a dyno pull... glad you had a great time.

BTW, seems like 1100 hp would rip a portable dyno out of its little rollers

 

213 WHP???
What the hell happened man? Maybe that 71 Monte ruined the roller on the dyno, and that's the reason for your 213.

 

I've been told this is a conservative dyno, and I wasn't impressed with the 244 that Lucy pulled, as I was expecting more like 280-290 actually. I'm only pulling about 300-310 BHP, so for a conservative pull, (30% loss), I'm happy. Besides, it was fun and was for a good cause. I think MOST people donated more than the minimum $25 for the pull. And like I said, NO ONE expect over 200hp from Lucy!
