I was just wondering if all 6th gen Montes came with the black pull strap inside the trunk? My 03 has one but my 05 doesn't. If it did have one I have a feeling when the car went to auction, stuff was stripped off of it...the original gas cap was missing (there was a cheap one installed) and the car only came with one key and fob. So I wonder where I can get another trunk strap. I really don't want to go to the dealership.

My 06 has one. It's nice. My car only came with one key and fob as well. I had to fight with the dealer to get them to send me another fob, but I have to go have it programed and buy a key too.

Where is the strap? On the inside of the lid? Or the straps attached to the back seats?
My 04 came with two keys and fobs.

 

Thanks Taz! The strap is located on the left underneath back side of the deck lid. I should have taken a pic of it. I will when I get home.

 

Can't you program your fob with the radio controls? I was able to do it with mine. Does your key require programing? Mine didn't - just bought blanks off of ebay and took it to my local Ace hardware and they work just fine.

 

I think the key is chipped, but I'm not sure. If I can program it from the radio, I would love to see a how-to!

 

No chip in the key. My Intimidator SS didn't have the strap, but my '01 did. I bought one at the dealer for something like $12 or $15, and I don't know about the FOB.

And I have also been noticing that the 05 SS's do not have the trim strip in the middle of the door like my 03 does. See my sig

 

I looked in my trunk. No strap in my 04 Dale Jr edition either.

What would it be used for? Could it be for helping someone in a wheel chair close the trunk lid?
