Bought this off a guy on the forum. is it still usable or do you think some of the teeth are a little to scored for the chain to stay on?

Me personally...
I'd say no...
I see way to much wear/damage to even consider it.

I'm sure this is not what you wanted hear...

Maybe someone else will chime in with other ideas or opinions.

I kinda figured so. ill let him know that he needs to be more detailed in the condition of the product. I got a pic before he sent it but I could not see all this until it got here

I don't see a point in even bothering with a used setup anyways. A whole new setup is only $200, and it's cheap insurance for something that could seriously destroy your engine if it went bad.

Same with used single valvesprings...

Don't use that in an engine. It's only use is a paper weight. Never use a jp timing set either as many people have had major failures with them. Only timing set I'll ever use is a roll master

I would have to disagree on that. There are some used items that I wouldn't worry about buying used at all - a cam for example on a hydraulic roller lifter car (assuming they aren't pulling it because something broke that caused piston to valve contact).

Also, items that don't really wear out or move are good to buy used also - headers, throttle body, intake, etc.

I've used many used parts and have had great luck with them. There are some parts I would never buy used as well though.
