7th Gen ('06-'07): Door lights

Default Door lights
There appear to be red door lights on the inside bottom edge of the doors on my 2007 MC SS. Are they functioning lights or just reflectors? If they are lights how are they activated?

To my knowledge, they are just reflectors, nothing more.

X2 , I know on 2005 Monte they are just reflectors..
I had my door panel off no light or wires to it.
